  • Handcrafted linoprint, featuring a couple of Grey Fantails in Tasmanian Fagus.

    The Tasmanian Fagus, whose origins can be traced back to the Gondwanan era, is known as the only deciduous native tree in Australia. Every autumn, its leaves change dramatically in colours, going from green to red, orange and yellow in a spectacular show known in Tasmania as “the turning”. . Meanwhile the Grey Fantails, sporting their inconspicuous grey plumage, light up the skies with their most agile acrobatics.

    Delicate layering of colours in the Fagus leaves, with intricate details in the bird wings.

    Printed on 100% cotton BFK Rives paper. Limited edition of 95, signed and numbered by the artist.

    This is a 15 layers linoprint, printed off 4 hand carved plates, each one of them reused using the reduction method. Printed using a hand powered etching press in the artist's studio in southern Tasmania.
    The handmade nature of this printing technique means that every copy will be so ever slightly different from one another, each having their own uniqueness.
